by Kelly

Looking for the best accommodation in Amsterdam? Somewhere comfortable, central and with all the amenities? We found it! The best place to stay in Amsterdam is Movenpick Amsterdam Hotel. This is our perfect Amsterdam accommodation choice, Movenpick Amsterdam.

Movenpick Amsterdam Hotel were kind enough to host us during our stay, as always all opinions are our own from our own experience. We only give honest reviews so you can trust that you will be happy with your stay!

Why Movenpick Amsterdam is the best place to stay in Amsterdam-

Location

Located right near the train station and on the river the Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam has views across both the city and the river. It is an easy walk from the train station. The path is flat and direct, with river views as you walk.

It is also only a 10 minute walk in to the old town. Within minutes you are wandering canals, beautiful buildings and historical landmarks! Once in the city everything is so accessible, a short walk to the museum district and botanical gardens.

Service

The service is excellent, check in is an easy affair and quickly managed. Staff are friendly and helpful, telling us where to go and the different districts of Amsterdam. We were provided with a map and a detailed explanation which was incredible! We felt completely ready to explore.

Our room

We stayed on the 16th floor and had exceptional views out over the city and the river. The room was spacious and fully equipped with a fridge, bar area, coffee station, lounge, desk and king sized bed. We were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave, our room was so exceptionally wonderful! It was so nice to watch the sun rise and set over the city and river.

The bathroom was large with a shower and bathtub and all the amenities you need to have a relaxing stay. Forgot your toothbrush, hairbrush, shaving kit? No problem Movenpick has them all there for you!

Gym and Spa

There is a great gym on site as well, with cardio and weight options. There is also a spa area with two types of sauna, infrared and Finish. A cold lunge shower area and separate male and female showers. Massages are available to be booked and a relaxation space is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. Movenpick Amsterdam Hotel really was our perfect Amsterdam accommodation!

Breakfast

Breakfast was a massive buffet! There was anything you could hope for and probably more! A full hot buffet, a continental buffet and all the fruits, cheese and meats. As a coeliac I was thrilled to see a gluten free bread option ready and wrapped up separately under lights so they were warm! Movenpick thinks of everyone! Our favourite feature of the breakfast was the honeycomb! We have never tasted anything so delicious! Fresh and sweet it was a hit and we definitely helped ourselves to a couple of spoons!

Our final thoughts

We loved our time at Movenpick Amsterdam. The service and quality were excellent, location was outstanding and the room was exceptional. The whole stay went very smoothly and was very comfortable, we highly recommend it for your visit to Amsterdam, you wont be disappointed!
