Wine Tasting on Kefalonia – Gentilini Winery & Vineyards

by Kelly

Kefalonia is a beautiful country full of stunning wineries and vineyards. It is an incredible lovely way to spend some time and the wines are great! Gentilini Winery & Vineyards is a family winery and has a strong history with the island Kefalonia.

The location

One of our favourite wineries to visit was Gentilini Winery & Vineyards. They are easily accessed from Agostoili, tucked along the road out of the town. The wine tasting area is set right near to the vineyards and you are able to walk over to them to take a look and a photo. There is a sweet swing there and it is a pretty spot to enjoy the view.

The wine tasting

The wine tasting area is a really lovely garden. It is set under some beautiful trees with a cute little wine store and benches to sit and enjoy the wine and surrounds.

We partook in a 7 wine flight and Korina our hostess was very informative and adept at her task. With each wine we were given the explanation between the taste, style, growing details and the best food pairing for that variety. We were served a lovely complimentary plate with our their own organic extra virgin olive oil, local cheese, grape tomatoes and fresh bread.

The Gentilini Winery tasting

It was a spectacularly beautiful location and just the perfect way to spend an hour or so in the afternoon sun. We loved the robola and thoroughly recommend this winery and their delicious wines.
